Beat the Winter Rush: Get Comfortable With the FLAC App This Fall
Outdoor activities become less appealing when the temp drops, so more people turn to indoor fitness. At Four Lakes Athletic Club, that means our group fitness classes become an even bigger part of members’ weekly fitness routines.
From Bootcamp and Barre Fusion to Cycling, Pilates, Yoga, Strength Training, and Silver Sneakers, our group fitness schedule offers something for every fitness level and goal. But because many of our classes have capacity limits, getting comfortable with the FLAC app now can help you stay consistent and secure your spot when the winter rush arrives.
The best time to learn the app is before you miss out!
Why Class Registration Matters
Our group fitness classes aren't simply limited for convenience. Capacity limits help create a better experience for everyone in the room.
Some classes have limited equipment or require additional space for movement. This is especially important for:
Cycling
Barre Fusion
Bootcamp
Senior Cardio Plus
Other classes also have capacity limits to ensure members have adequate space and instructors can effectively lead the group.
Registering ahead of time helps our instructors know how many members to expect, making it easier to prepare equipment and set up the room before class begins.
And for you? It means you know your spot is secured.
Don't Wait Until Winter to Start Using the App
Fall is the perfect time to get familiar with the Four Lakes Athletic Club app.
Once you are comfortable navigating the schedule and registering for classes, it becomes a simple part of your fitness routine.
You can use the app to:
View the current group fitness schedule
Reserve your spot in a class
See whether you’re on the roster or waitlist
Unregister if your plans change
Receive notifications when a spot becomes available for you
Stay informed about class cancellations and schedule changes
The app also helps you stay connected to the most up-to-date schedule, so you can plan your workouts around your week.
What Happens If a Class Is Full?
Don't assume a full class means you can't attend.
If you don't make it onto the roster, you can join the waitlist. If another member cancels and a space becomes available, you'll be notified and added to class. You can see in your current schedule on your app home page if your’re registered or waitlisted.
This is particularly helpful during the colder months, when indoor fitness becomes popular and classes fill quickly.
And remember: if your plans change, unregister from the class so another member has the opportunity to take your spot.
It's a small step that helps keep registration moving smoothly for everyone.
Know Your Class Capacity
Different group fitness classes at FLAC have different maximum capacities based on the space, equipment, and format of the class.

When Can You Register for a Class?
Most FLAC group fitness class registration opens one week before the class.
That gives you plenty of opportunity to plan your workouts ahead of time rather than waiting until the last minute.
Silver Sneakers classes have a 5-day registration window.
Weekly Registration Schedule
Wednesday: Register for Monday
Thursday: Register for Tuesday
Friday: Register for Wednesday
Saturday: Register for Thursday
Sunday: Register for Friday
Monday & Tuesday: Register for any class later in the week
Getting into the habit of checking the app and registering when your window opens can make a big difference, especially during the busy winter fitness season.
App Registration Gives You Priority
Members using the app have priority when reserving group fitness spots.
Calling the club to reserve a spot leaves availability to chance. When a class has limited capacity, spots can fill before you have an opportunity to get registered.
Using the app puts the information and registration directly in your hands.
Check the schedule. Choose your class. Reserve your spot.
It's that simple.
Stay in the Know About Cancellations
Another benefit of registering for class is staying informed.
If a class needs to be canceled or there is an unexpected schedule change, registered members can receive notification through the app.
That means you're not showing up to the club expecting a workout only to discover that your class isn't being held.
The FLAC app helps keep you in the loop.
