Love Staying Active at FLAC? Turn Your Passion Into a Fitness Career

Do you love staying active at Four Lakes Athletic Club? Do you find yourself encouraging friends, helping someone learn a new exercise, or thinking, “I could totally teach this class”?

Maybe it’s time to take that passion to the next level.

A career in fitness can open the door to opportunities in personal training, group fitness, nutrition, and wellness/mind-body programming, specialty fitness formats, and more. And if you’re already part of the FLAC community, you’re surrounded by opportunities to learn, connect, and build experience in the fitness industry.

Start Your Fitness Career at Midwest Mania

The Midwest Mania Fitness Pro Convention is coming to the Chicago area October 2–4, 2026, at the Hilton Rosemont/Chicago O’Hare. The three-day event brings together fitness professionals, educators, presenters, and aspiring fitness professionals for hands-on education, workshops, networking, and certification opportunities. SCW lists more than 200 workshops and 20+ CEC/CEU opportunities across the weekend.

That means you don’t have to have your entire fitness career mapped out before you start. You can explore different areas of the industry, build your knowledge, earn credentials, and discover what type of fitness work gets you excited.

What Could a Fitness Career at FLAC Look Like?

At Four Lakes Athletic Club, fitness is about more than workouts. It’s about helping people feel stronger, more confident, more capable, and more connected.

Our fitness team supports members through personal training, group fitness, functional training, wellness programming, nutrition, mobility, recovery, and more.

For the right person, getting certified could be the first step toward becoming part of that team.

Imagine turning something you already enjoy into work that allows you to:

  • Lead group fitness classes

  • Work one-on-one with personal training clients

  • Help members build confidence in the gym

  • Support healthier habits and lifestyle changes

  • Specialize in a particular fitness format

  • Build relationships within the FLAC community

  • Continue learning and developing professionally

  • Potentially build a career right here at Four Lakes Athletic Club

And for eligible FLAC team members, complimentary club membership is another benefit of working at the club - giving you even more opportunity to stay active, use the facility, and be immersed in the community you’re helping serve.

The Possibilities Are Endless. The Ability to Help People Is Ensured.

You don’t have to be the most experienced person in the room to start.

You do need curiosity, energy, a willingness to learn, and a genuine desire to help people.

A certification can give you the education and foundation. Experience can help you build confidence. And working alongside an experienced fitness team can help you continue developing your skills.

Whether you’ve always dreamed of becoming a personal trainer or you’re simply curious about teaching a fitness class, Midwest Mania could be a great place to explore what’s next.

25% OFF Midwest Mania Registration

If you’re thinking about attending, now is a great time to look into it. SCW is currently promoting a 25% OFF Fall Sale with code FALL25 on eligible Midwest Mania options.

The event takes place October 2–4 in the Chicago/Rosemont area, so there’s still an opportunity to turn next weekend into the first step toward something bigger.
