Back-to-School, Back-to-Fitness: Why Personal Training Can Help You Reach Your Goals

The backpacks are packed, school is back in session, and summer routines are starting to settle into something a little more predictable. If your fitness routine got pushed to the side over the summer, now is the perfect time to get back-to-fitness.

And you don't have to figure it all out on your own.

At Four Lakes Athletic Club, our personal trainers are here to help you turn your goals into a plan - and a plan into progress.

Why Work With a Personal Trainer?

Walking into the fitness center with a goal is one thing. Knowing exactly what to do, how to do it, and how to stay consistent is another.

Personal training gives you a coach in your corner who can help you:

  • Create a plan: Your workouts should fit your goals, experience, schedule, and lifestyle.

  • Stay accountable: Having someone expecting you to show up can make consistency easier.

  • Build confidence: Learn how to use equipment and perform exercises with greater confidence.

  • Keep making progress: Your trainer can adjust your workouts as your strength and abilities improve.

  • Stay motivated: Sometimes the extra encouragement is exactly what you need to keep going.

  • Work toward a specific goal: Whether you're building strength, preparing for an event, improving your fitness, or simply wanting to feel better in your everyday routine, personal training can provide added direction.

Your Goal Is Personal. Your Training Should Be, Too.

We've seen members use fitness to work toward all kinds of goals.

Some want to feel stronger and more confident. Some are preparing for a marathon or another big event. Others are training for an athletic competition or simply want to be able to keep up with the activities they love.

One member may be working toward fitting comfortably into an old uniform for their daughter's wedding. Another may be training for the Special Olympics. Someone else may simply want to walk into the fitness center knowing exactly what they're doing.

There isn't one definition of progress - and there shouldn't be one definition of training!

That's where personal training can make a difference.
