The 4 Weeks Are Over. Your Fitness Journey Isn't!

Still going strong with last month's fitness challenges? Keep that momentum going!

Four weeks. Four challenges. One goal: building healthier habits, getting stronger, and creating a routine you can stick with.

Last month, we challenged FLAC members to take things one week at a time with our 4 Weeks to a Fitter You challenge:

  • Week 1: Step It Up - Aim for 10,000 steps every day.

  • Week 2: Core Strength - Complete 3 rounds of 30-second planks.

  • Week 3: Lower Body Power - Complete 3 rounds of 30-second wall squats.

  • Week 4: Push Your Limits - Work toward 10 pushups, with traditional, modified, or elevated options.

Now that the four weeks have come and gone, here's the big question: Are you still keeping it going?

Don't Let Your Progress Stop at Four Weeks

The real goal was never just to complete four weeks of challenges. It was to build habits that carry you forward long after the challenge ends.

Maybe you're still hitting your daily step goal. Maybe planks have become part of your warmup, or you're squeezing in a few pushups between workouts. Whatever you've carried forward, that's progress worth celebrating!

Consistency is what turns small efforts into lasting results. You don't have to make huge leaps every week. You just have to keep showing up, challenging yourself, and finding ways to build on what you've already accomplished.

Ready to Level Up? Keep Adding On!

If you've mastered last month's challenges, it's time to give yourself a new goal. Here are a few ways to keep progressing:

  • Steps: Increase your daily goal, take an extra walk, or aim for more active minutes throughout the day.

  • Planks: Add 5 - 10 seconds to your hold or experiment with a new plank variation.

  • Wall Squats: Increase your hold time or add another round to your routine.

  • Pushups: Work toward more repetitions, improve your form, or progress to a more challenging variation.

Remember, progress doesn't have to look the same for everyone. Focus on improving from where YOU started.

Make Consistency Part of Your Routine

One of the biggest obstacles to fitness success isn't necessarily knowing what exercises to do. It's finding the consistency to keep doing them.

A few reminders to help you stay on track:

  1. Schedule your workouts. Treat your fitness time like any other important appointment.

  2. Mix things up. Try a group fitness class, change your strength routine, or explore a new piece of equipment.

  3. Celebrate the small wins. More steps, better endurance, improved form, or simply showing up on a busy day all count.

  4. Keep your goals realistic. A manageable routine you can maintain is more valuable than an ambitious plan you abandon after a week.

  5. Don't let one missed day become a missed week. Life happens! Get back to it and keep moving forward.
