Slow Down. Stretch Deep. Feel Better.

Introducing Sloga: A New Thursday Morning Group Fitness Class at FLAC!

Sometimes, the best way to move forward is to slow down.

This November, Four Lakes Athletic Club is bringing something new to our Group Fitness lineup! Whether you're looking to improve flexibility, release built-up tension, or simply give your body a little extra attention, our newest class is designed to help you slow your pace, reconnect with your body, and move with intention.

Introducing Sloga - a slower, more mindful approach to movement and stretching.

Join Kayleigh every Thursday morning at 8:00 AM for a refreshing way to start your day.

What Is Sloga?

Think less rushing through repetitions and more taking the time to truly feel each movement.

Sloga combines slow, intentional stretching, gentle mobility work, and mindful breathing to encourage flexibility, relaxation, and greater body awareness.

Unlike faster-paced fitness classes, Sloga invites you to settle into each stretch, explore your comfortable range of motion, and give your muscles time to gradually release tension.

Using supportive equipment such as bolsters, yoga blocks, and light weights, participants can modify movements, find comfortable positions, and gently deepen their stretching experience.

It's not about how far you can stretch or how challenging you can make a movement. It's about finding what feels right for your body.

A Different Kind of Strength

We spend so much time focusing on building strength, increasing endurance, and pushing ourselves to achieve the next fitness goal. But what about giving our bodies the opportunity to recover, restore, and reset?

Slow, mindful movement can be an important part of a well-rounded fitness routine.

Benefits of incorporating Sloga into your week may include:

  • Improved Flexibility: Gently work toward a greater range of motion without forcing your body into uncomfortable positions.

  • Reduced Muscle Tension: Give tight, overworked muscles some much-needed attention.

  • Better Mobility: Support comfortable, functional movement in your everyday activities.

  • Greater Body Awareness: Learn to recognize areas of tightness, imbalance, and restricted movement.

  • Stress Relief: Pair intentional movement with calm breathing to create a more relaxed state of mind.

  • Active Recovery: Complement your strength training, cardio workouts, tennis matches, and other fitness activities.

All Fitness Levels. All Bodies. Your Pace.

You don't have to be flexible to start. In fact, that's one of the best reasons to join!

Whether you're a regular in our Group Fitness classes, an athlete looking to balance an intense training schedule, or someone simply hoping to move more comfortably throughout the day, Sloga offers a welcoming environment to explore mindful movement.

With the help of bolsters, blocks, and other supportive equipment, movements can be adapted to accommodate different abilities and comfort levels.

No competition. No pressure. Just purposeful movement.

Make Thursday Mornings Your Time to Reset

Before the demands of the day take over, give yourself the opportunity to slow down.

Sloga is a chance to step away from the hustle, tune into your body, and discover how beneficial a slower approach to fitness can be.

And don't let the gentle pace fool you! Taking time to stretch intentionally, improve mobility, and develop body awareness can be just as valuable to your overall fitness journey as breaking a sweat.
